The late Niki Lauda's 1975 Ferrari 312T has been sold for $6,000,000 at an auction on Friday 16 August.
This was the first ever Ferrari 312T to be sold at an auction event, being sold at Gooding and Company Pebble Beach 2019. When sold, there was a standing ovation from the auction tent.
The car, numbered #22, helped Lauda win the 1975 French Grand Prix, as well as recording podiums at Zandvoort and the Nurburgring. The car had been at the Ferrari factory for multiple years as part of an exhibition.
However, after the tragic loss of one of Formula 1's greats, Ferrari decided to sell part of Lauda's legacy so his fans could have a bit of his F1 history as well.
