Newey had to drastically change set-up Red Bull: 'Only thing you can do'

The weather forecast at the Suzuka Circuit has changed significantly since Saturday. For Adrian Newey, that meant there were adjustments to be made to the set-up of the Red Bull Racing cars of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.

Red Bull opted for an intermediate set-up based on the forecast after qualifying, but conditions have clearly changed. "The weather forecast has changed, so all you can do is set the car up according to the weather forecast you have at the time," Newey told Viaplay.

"At qualifying yesterday it was predicted that there may be a bit of rain towards the end of the race. Obviously that's very different now," he adds. Meanwhile, he walks around the grid with his old-fashioned notepad: "Just looking and see what other people are up to. Sometimes it sparks ideas," he says with a smile.
