New front and rear wings for Spanish Grand Prix in massive upgrade for Ferrari

Ferrari will be introducing big downforce upgrades come the Spanish Grand Prix next week, with the Scuderia previously struggling for grip on the softer compounds as they've failed to win a race in 2019 so far.

In the first four races of the season, it's been all Mercedes one-twos, a record start for any team. Ferrari have looked the quickest car on the grid on numerous occasion, but for various reasons, it hasn't quite come out during the races.

The Spanish Grand Prix, the venue for next week's race, historically has never been a favourable track for Ferrari, with their last win coming back in 2013.

It's also the race where most teams bring their first big upgrades, usually causing big changes in the pecking order of the grid.

According to Motorsport.com Italy, Ferrari will have updates to both the front and the rear wing, improving aerodynamics and subsequently the heating of the tyres. Tyre temperature, and particularly the heating of tyres, has been a big issue for the Scuderia, particularly on softer compounds.

Ferrari will likely not yet introduce their second engine of the season, as benchmarking back at the factory continues.
