Max Verstappen is currently enjoying his holiday, free from Formula 1 commitments for the next few weeks. The Dutchman was also recently pranked by his brother-in-law, Nelson Piquet Jr.
During the summer break, many Formula 1 drivers take time off to rest, as their weekends are packed with numerous obligations beyond just racing. August is typically the period when drivers head on holiday.
Verstappen is no exception. Last weekend, Kelly Piquet shared images of her holiday with the four-time world champion. Although the exact location of their trip has not been confirmed, it was revealed that Verstappen’s private jet had landed in Sicily before departing from Corsica shortly afterwards.

While Verstappen is enjoying his break, his peace was briefly interrupted. Nelson Piquet Jr., brother of Kelly Piquet, decided to prank the Red Bull Racing driver by firing a water gun from behind a wall at Verstappen and his companions. Someone nearby, witnessing the one-sided water fight, remarked, "Nelson is on the attack!"
Verstappen has had an intense first five months of the Formula 1 season. Since mid-March, like the other drivers, he has taken part in fourteen race weekends. In addition, he and Kelly Piquet welcomed their first child together, Lily.
Unlike the past four years, it seems that Verstappen is not contending for the title this year. The Red Bull Racing driver sits 97 points behind championship leader Oscar Piastri, while Lando Norris has an 88-point advantage over him in second place. However, Verstappen's grip on third place is far from secured, with George Russell only fifteen points adrift.
