Message from Sainz for Ferrari: 'Change has to come from within'

Carlos Sainz hopes to do well in the Brazil and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix, but his focus is mainly on 2023. If Ferrari wants to compete for the world title then things will have to change. The driver is confident this will happen, he told Grande Premio.

Ferrari did not only have to deal with a strong Max Verstappen this season, but also made several mistakes of its own. Moreover, the car has not yet been able to really challenge for the world title.

However, Sainz is sure that the Italian formation is on the right track and that its chances will improve next season. He believes the race weekends in Brazil and Abu Dhabi should contribute to a strong Ferrari in 2023, as the team has a lot to learn in the closing stages of the year.

"There will be changes in the rules that will affect all teams next year," Sainz stated. "But the main change has to come from within. We are changing things to be better on Sunday next year: everything Charles [Leclerc] commented on. We are using these last few races to do that."
