Mercedes opt for a conservative approach to Spanish GP tyres

Mercedes have decided to go safe with tyre choices ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix. The mediums, softs and supersofts are on offer to all teams. This season's cars have done plenty of mileage around the Barcelona track, but conditions will be different in two weeks time.

The tops teams have all opted for similar styles.

Pirelli will produce a tyre with a lower thread to prevent the overheating issues that could occur with the abrasive new surface. This will also be in place for the French and British races.
