Mercedes explain different tyre choice for Canada

When Pirelli released all the teams' tyre choices for the Canadian Grand Prix, people were quick to notice that Mercedes were taking very few sets of the new, softer hyper soft compound, and Mercedes have now explained why they made this choice.
Mercedes have struggled to get the best out of the pink compound, which became apparent in Monaco when Lewis Hamilton complained that the tyres were wearing too quickly. Toto Wolff, The Silver Arrows' team principal, explained that the team will probably use the hyper soft in qualifying anyway.
"We have to make sure that we get the best out of every compound, that goes for the hyper softs too," Wolff told Motorsportweek.
After a race without much fireworks in Monaco, Wolff expects a lot more spectacle, from Mercedes' point of view at least.
"The circuit in Monréal is very good for overtaking.
