Max Verstappen will not take part in the next GT race on the legendary Nordschleife at the Nurburgring. GPblog can confirm that the Dutchman will skip the final warm-up race ahead of the 24 Hours of the Nurburgring.
In theory, the Dutch driver could have competed in NLS3, scheduled for April 11, as there is no Formula 1 that weekend following the cancellation of the Bahrain GP. However, Verstappen will not be on the grid, as his team is set to race in the GTWC at the Circuit Paul Ricard on the same weekend.

Verstappen in qualifying after all?

A week later, the ADAC 24h Nurburgring Qualifiers take place. Lucas Auer was initially set to handle qualifying duties, as teammates Daniel Juncadella and Jules Gounon (both competing in the World Endurance Championship), along with Verstappen (due to the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix), had prior commitments.

However, with the race in Jeddah now cancelled, Verstappen is free to take part in qualifying.
It is understood that Verstappen is likely to share qualifying duties with Auer, although there has been no official confirmation.
Under the regulations, only one driver per car can participate in a specific phase of the session, but with multiple sessions available, it remains possible for Auer and Verstappen to rotate.
