Verstappen expects much from Las Vegas GP: 'Going to be really insane'

Max Verstappen is a fan of traditional circuits such as Spa and Suzuka; tracks that pose a real challenge to drivers. Earlier, the two-time world champion said he is not a particular fan of narrow street circuits, where the walls pose more of a danger than the competition. However, he does expect a lot from the new Las Vegas Grand Prix.
The circuit through the streets of the gambling paradise is characterised by long straights, on which high speeds will soon be reached. There are no complicated corner combinations in the American city. Alex Albon previously told GPblog and others that a Las Vegas Grand Prix would not necessarily have been necessary for him.

'Everyone wants to go to Las Vegas'

There may not be much action on the track soon, but just outside it there is. At times when F1 is not on the track, there will undoubtedly be entertainment and amusement in the city. "(Vegas) is going to be crazy," Max Verstappen said about it, speaking to Forbes. "(Vegas) is going to be crazy. Everyone I speak to, they want to go to Vegas. … I’m curious to see how that weekend will pan out but I think it’s going to be really insane."

For the Grand Prix to go off without a hitch, there is still work to be done in Las Vegas. For example, five months before the race, the organisers are looking for track marshals and people to help with incidents on the track (such as salvaging cars). Interested parties can apply immediately to the organisers, in this case Formula One Management (FOM). Finally, this is the first Grand Prix to be organised by FOM itself, rather than by a local promoter.
