Zak Brown made contact with Max Verstappen's management, but after a call, nothing else materialised, and it was announced that Oscar Piastri had signed a contract extension. The Dutchman himself joked about the situation, citing his wage demands.
Rumours about Verstappen's future have been flying around everywhere, and that will continue in the 2025 season as well. The driver has a contract until the 2028 season, however, he could leave because of performance clauses. While Mercedes and Aston Martin are said to be interested, Verstappen says he is comfortable.

Verstappen jokes about Zak Brown's inquiry

"I'm not that [much] into that, into speculation. I don't like that much. You just shouldn't get involved in that. I'm going into my 11th season now, I'm not going to waste my energy on that," he began to Viaplay.
"I'm in a good place here. Of course we want to go a bit faster, but I think everyone wants that. I just do my best and besides that, I'm busy with other things. Then I'm fine at home. Fine with family and friends," he added.

It was also recently revealed that McLaren CEO Zak Brown held talks with Verstappen's management. Not with the driver himself, he pointed out, but the conversation did not last long either, he explained. ''That was done fairly quickly, though. When he knew how much he had to pay, it was done immediately,'' Verstappen said smiling.
How much money would that add up to? "A lot," the defending champion concluded.
