Verstappen addresses rumors about a possible move to Mercedes

Verstappen has responded to the rumors about a possible move to Mercedes next year and to Toto Wolff’s recent statements.

Rumors about Max Verstappen potentially moving to Mercedes have been swirling for weeks. The Dutchman has addressed these rumors during an appearance on Viaplay.

Toto Wolff previously said about the rumors: 'It makes sense to explore how a four-time world champion envisions his future''.

Verstappen coolly responded via Viaplay: ''Yes, I don't have much to add to that. The more I say about it, the more it gets blown up in the media and I really don't want that. I determine my own future''.

Ahead of the Imola GP, Verstappen said the upcoming races would be important for his future. Asked whether the past four races have turned out as he expected, Verstappen is clear: ''There are of course also updates coming, so I can't now say and provide clarity on whether it is a success or not. By the summer break, it will be clear what is happening this season in terms of performance''.

Asked whether more clarity about the future will emerge during the rest of the season, Verstappen dryly responds: ''There won't be much coming from me''.
