Marcin Budkowski, Renault's executive director, confirms his team are working on a "tight" schedule as the car's reveal date looms.
He remains confident that Renault will improve on their 2018 challenger as they look to move closer to the top three. The team will also be boosted by Daniel Ricciardo, who arrives after a shock move from Renault.
According to reports in the summer, Renault started work on their 2019 car just after the half-way point. With Haas much improved, it's unsure how much attention was steered back towards 2018 version, but Budkowski claims they're pushed for time.
With a new engine plus many changes to the aerodynamics, more thinking will have to be done in every garage this winter. The Renault car will be unveiled on February 13th in Enstone.
"It's going to be tight to get everything done on time, which is actually always the case. You naturally want to finish everything as late as possible to get the maximum out of it before you start producing parts. But to do this from the drawing board this year is a lot of work," says Budkowski to Motorsport-Total.
