Nigel Mansell has revealed his 'wish' that former team Ferrari improve in order for Lewis Hamilton to compete at the top. Like many Ferrari fans, the 1992 world champion would like to see Hamilton compete at the front with the famous Italian marque.
At the halfway point of the 2025 season, it's clear to see that
Hamilton's debut year with Ferrari hasn't been ideal.
The seven-time world champion has scored one sprint win in China, but is yet to finish on the podium in a Grand Prix with Ferrari.
The 105-time race winner has scored 103 points so far this season and sits sixth in the championship standings.
"I think it's fantastic. I needed another 10 years to earn what he gets in one year," Mansell joked while speaking about the seven-time world champion at the famed Goodwood Festival of Speed in his native England.
Mansell drove his championship-winning Williams FW14B up the Goodwood Hillclimb in front of thousands of adoring fans, revelling in the nostalgia.

Mansell is certain Ferrari 'should' be competing at the front
Like Hamilton, Mansell also made the jump to Ferrari as a British driver. Known as 'Il Leone' by the tifosi, Mansell won three races for Ferrari across his two year stint in the 1989 and 1990 seasons.
He continued: "No, Lewis is fantastic, great world champion. I just wish Ferrari would get something back that they had last year, because they should be competing at the top, and they've lost something this winter."
The Italian team finished 2024 in second place overall, as their constructors battle with McLaren went right down to the final race in Abu Dhabi.
The F1 world has shifted hugely since that finale at Yas Marina. Although Ferrari is once again second in the constructors standings, they sit on 222 points, 238 points behind dominant leaders McLaren.
