Liam Lawson has recently opened up on his eventful 2025 campaign so far. The 23-year-old detailed the need to seek consistency as he shifts focus to the final stretch of the season.
The New Zealand driver, who commenced the season with the Red Bull Racing outfit, was subsequently demoted to sister team Racing Bulls ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix. Lawson appears to have since found his feet and gathered some consistency following the incident. Summing up his season so far during the Hungarian Grand Prix, Lawson told the media, including GPblog, how it was largely a rockier start to the season than he would have anticipated.
“It's been busy. It's been a whirlwind, especially at the start of the year. Very unexpected, and what was probably a rocky start has now stabilised, and we're in a better place. The speed's been there most of the year, and it's nice that we're finally able to get a couple of good results.”
“As a whole, we need to be doing that more. To have two or three of those races over the first half of the season is not enough. Going forward into the second half of the year, we're trying to replicate this more. Right now, with how close it is, it's the little things that make a big difference. Trying to extract everything each weekend.”

Liam Lawson's 2025 season unravelled

Liam Lawson’s first full season did not shape out as he would have anticipated. The Kiwi native, who was brought in to replace Sergio Perez, failed to record any points in his two Grand Prix with the Red Bull team.
Lawson’s struggles spiralled into his return to the Racing Bulls outfit, as it wasn’t until the Monaco Grand Prix that he recorded his first points of the campaign. The 23-year-old appears to have since found some consistency, as he has recorded three points-scoring finishes in his last four races.
