Max Verstappen has won the Brazilian GP starting from 17th place on the grid. The Dutchman was really happy after earning a long-awaited victory at
Interlagos. While
Lando Norris said
Verstappen was luckily,
Lewis Hamilton congratulated the Dutchman as well as the two Alpine drivers on social media.
Verstappen was over the moon with winning for the first time since the Spanish GP in Barcelona. After some challenging weeks for the Dutchman where he was also heavily criticised, he was once again on the top step of the podium.
On the other hand, Lando Norris finished in P6, and had to go to the stewards for the 'aborted start incident' that happened after
Lance Stroll's Aston Martin got struck in a gravel trap on the formation lap. The Briton said 'Verstappen got lucky' following the chequered flag.
Hamilton congratulates Verstappen
Lewis Hamilton, who was Verstappen's title rival in 2021 however did praise the Dutchman on
Instagram, similarly to how he congratulated Alpine drivers
Esteban Ocon and
Pierre Gasly. The Briton wrote under the Red Bull driver's post:
"Amazing drive, congrats." Under a separate post,
George Russell also joined his teammate, writing:
"Great job mate!"This article was written in collaboration with Sandy van Wijngaarden
