Hulkenberg gets disqualified in Brazil: Here's why

Nico Hulkenberg received a black flag at Interlagos during the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix, that meant he was not allowed to continue to compete. The German had to go the stewards as well after the chequered flag was waved. Here is why the German was disqualified.

While Haas had a strong weekend in Mexico City, things did not go as planned in Brazil. The weekend began for the American with Kevin Magnussen getting sick, therefore, the Dane could not compete this weekend.

Then both Nico Hulkenberg and Oliver Bearman were out in Q1 in qualifying. During the race, the Haas cars were seen leaving the track on many occasions. Oliver Bearman, who replaced Magnussen, was pushing hard during his first rainy Grand Prix and was involved in many incidents, while Nico Hulkenberg also got stuck on the track causing a VSC.

Hulkenberg lost control over his car in Turn 1, and then spun, leading him to getting stuck on the track. The German stood still for a long time before he could get going again, however, this only happened because he was helped by the marshals. Therefore, he got disqualified.
