Charles Leclerc has revealed his desire to compete in the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours in the future.
“I want to do it to try and win – and for that [to happen], it needs preparation.”

The 28-year-old, speaking at the FIA Gala in Uzbekistan, was asked about the success of Ferrari’s endurance programme, and was further pressed on whether he would like to take part in Le Mans, and he responded with certainty.
“Definitely. I've said it quite a few times. Now I need to find a way to combine Formula 1 and Le Mans, because if I do something, I want to do it to try and win – and for that, it needs preparation, because the level is super high. But for sure, I would love to,” Leclerc said.
Leclerc’s talk of participating in endurance racing comes off the back of Max Verstappen participating in and winning an endurance race in the GT3 category at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in the NLS Series back in September. The four-time world champion won the race while driving a Ferrari 296 GT3 car.

The Red Bull Racing driver, who now has DMSB Permit Nordschleife, has previously voiced his ambition to compete at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring race as well.

Leclerc hoping to replicate endurance team success to F1

Leclerc also detailed the need for the F1 outfit to replicate the success achieved by the Italian team’s endurance arm. The Monegasque driver also expressed pride and excitement at Ferrari’s recent accomplishments.
“The legacy that Ferrari has left in motorsport will forever be there, and I'm super proud to be part of it somehow. Now it's up to us to live up to expectations just like my teammates in endurance do, and I'm super happy to be here tonight to support them,” he said.
