Lando Norris’ girlfriend, Margarida Corceiro, has responded at the FIA Gala in Uzbekistan to alleged critical remarks attributed to her about Max Verstappen. Earlier this year, Corceiro came under fire when, according to an unnamed source — a website that has since changed its name — she was said to have claimed that Verstappen 'has the FIA on his side' and 'he can only win through luck.' She was heavily criticized online afterwards, despite there being no evidence that she actually said this.

Confronted by the Portuguese TV Guia about these alleged comments, Corceiro explained she was unaware of ever having said this.
She said: "I didn't see anything. I don't know what criticisms are being talked about. I deal with these things as I always have: I ignore them. They don't bother me and they don't change my daily life. I continue to be happy, to be with my family, friends, colleagues... Those are the ones who are important.”

Until the final race weekend in Abu Dhabi, the couple also remained reserved about their relationship. Norris said in the past that he wanted to keep his private life out of the spotlight as much as possible, mainly due to online hate.
"I'm very happy, he's very happy and that's what matters," Corceiro continued about her relationship with Norris.
She also admitted that the public kiss, surrounded by cameras, wasn’t planned. "There's no rule for going public. I thought it made sense... At that moment, I forgot the cameras were there. It was such an important moment that I didn't even remember that."
