During the Austrian Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc was asked over the team radio if he felt up to a race with three stops. That the Monegasque had no appetite for this soon became clear when he said very firmly, "No, no", over the board radio. Leclerc explains why this was not an option for him.

Leclerc on Ferrari's strategy

"Because for me, it was clearly not a three-stop race. At least it didn't feel like that. I don't know what the plan was for the other tyre. I don't think we had discussed that before that. I just said no because I did not feel it was the right decision," the Ferrari driver told Sky Sports after the race.
Leclerc was hot on the heels of teammate Carlos Sainz during the race, who seemed to be much faster during the first laps on the track. Sainz was hindered by the team while Leclerc took his second podium of the year, standing next to the two Red Bulls on the podium. The 25-year-old Leclerc already thanked Sainz for his team's performance in Austria.
