Charles Leclerc failed to win the battle with Sergio Perez in qualifying. Indeed, Red Bull Racing was very strong on Saturday, with Max Verstappen and Perez managing to take first and second place respectively. For the race, Leclerc does not see the chances looking rosy as a result, he told Viaplay.
The Monegasque tried quite hard to be at the front during the race on Sunday, but fell more than two and a half tenths short of Verstappen's time. Perez managed to beat his rival by four hundredths. "Overall I am pretty happy with my lap. There wasn't much more.," Leclerc nevertheless revealed.

Leclerc faces tough assignment

There is therefore quite a challenge awaiting Leclerc. If he wants to clinch second place in the world championship, he will have to finish ahead of Perez. Although the Red Bull driver is only one place ahead of him, he knows it will not be easy to beat the Austrian formation.
Indeed, Ferrari proved strong in qualifying this season, while Red Bull made the difference in the race. Leclerc therefore expects a tough task for his team. "The Red Bull's are normally stronger at the Sunday than the Saturday. It's gonna be difficult."
