Lance Stroll had a tough weekend at the Spanish Grand Prix, culminating in him missing out on Sunday's race due to injury. However, an outburst of anger from the Canadian due to his Q2 elimination was reported, with his chief mechanic, Harry Rush, responding to that. Stroll was forced to miss the Grand Prix in Barcelona
due to "pain in his hand and wrist" from a cycling accident that occurred in 2023. However, on Saturday, a report came out that the Canadian had
a furious reaction to his Q2 elimination.
It was reported that the Aston Martin driver "damaged equipment in the garage and swore at team members", while a team spokesperson also stated that "Lance was upset" after another early elimination in 2025.
Stroll currently sits on 14 championship points, 12 more than teammate Fernando Alonso after nine races in 2025.
Stroll's chief mechanic has his say
Stroll has only been able to get into the final session of qualifying once out of the nine Grands Prix so far in 2025, with that one Q3 session resulting in a P8 at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.
Once again, that tough run on Saturday continued at the
Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with the 26-year-old only able to set the 14th fastest time in Q2, meaning he was eliminated from the session, while teammate Fernando Alonso made it into Q3, qualifying P10.
The latest elimination in Barcelona for the Canadian resulted in that reported outburst towards his team in the garage during the ninth race weekend of the season. However, Rush has responded to those reports.
There is no denial from the mechanic about Stroll's reported outburst. However, there is a part of the reported incident that Rush does disagree with, which he addresses on Instagram.
"Screamed at team members? Not true at all," was what the mechanic said when discussing the matter, ruling out that part of Stroll's blowup in the garage.
