Kvyat calls for end of Friday practice in F1

Daniil Kvyat believes that Formula 1 no longer needs Friday practice. F1 has been outspoken in how it is trying to shape its future and race weekend structure has been mentioned as an area that could change.

While Formula 1 has tried to change qualifying most recently with an elimination-style system being dropped just two rounds after its introduction, limiting the amount of practice teams have for a weekend has been a point of interest for F1's decision makers when considering potential changes.

The Toro Rosso driver insisted that the entirety of Friday running should be dropped in order to make the race weekend more unpredictable for teams due to lack of track time and limited knowledge.

"Maybe we need to just come on the track on Saturday," he said.
