Robert Kubica has hailed Fernando Alonso at the best driver of all time as he prepares to return to the grid without the Spanish driver there.
Alonso retired from Formula 1 at the end of the season as he pursues the triple crown of motorsport having already won the 24 hours Le Mans and the Monaco Grand Prix.
Meanwhile, Kubica is making his comeback in 2019, partnering rookie, George Russell at Williams following eight years out following a near-fatal crash.
The two drivers faced each other for a few seasons before Kubica’s crash and may have teamed up at Ferrari had the crash not happened.
Kubica spoke about what attributes made Alonso a World Champion.

“Alonso has become world champion for his strong personality.” Said Kubica in an interview released to the Movistar and F1 channel.
“He is not only one of the best Formula 1 drivers, he is the best.
"Sometimes people confuse their desire to improve with arrogance or bad character," added the Polish driver in reference to beliefs that Spaniard is difficult to manage and harmful to the team.
