Jos Verstappen has expressed his admiration for Red Bull Racing’s recent upturn in form under team principal Laurent Mekies. “It's nice to see such a turnaround."
- Jos VerstappenThe 53-year-old, who spoke via Dutch outlet RaceXpress, touched on the team’s performance gains while also highlighting the improved team atmosphere, which he believes has played a part in their resurgence.
“They are doing very well; they found something in Monza, and it was also evident in Baku. Let's see how it goes in the next rounds.”
“The atmosphere in the team is good now, it's nice to see. The results are helping, but they're back to smiling. It's nice to see such a turnaround –how Laurent Mekies has found the right balance so quickly. He's also cheerful and friendly.”

Mekies was brought in to replace Christian Horner ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix. Since the 48-year-old took over at the Milton Keynes outfit, the team, led by
Max Verstappen, has recorded two race victories and multiple podium finishes.

Verstappen Snr also weighed in on the possibility of his son clinching the 2025 Drivers’ Championship. The former
F1 driver explained that Max would do his best but would also need circumstances to go his way to secure the title.
“He'll do his best; he'll try to get as many points as possible. However, many things have to happen – we'll see what happens.”
