A setback for Jos Verstappen. The former Formula 1 driver and, of course, father of Max has to miss the start of the Belgian rally season. Verstappen senior is struggling with health issues.
Jos Verstappen was already preparing in full ahead of the new rally season but has been suffering from migraine-like symptoms recently, he reveals via Verstappen.com.

Further investigations

According to the website, Jos has been examined in recent days and is now back in good health. Yet as additional medical examinations are to follow on the recommendation, it has been decided that he should not get behind the wheel for the time being. Instead, he will travel to Bahrain to follow Max.
Reacting, Jos Verstappen states that he is bitter about the situation. Of course, his health comes first now, but as soon as it is possible again, he wants to pick up rallying again. In any case, Verstappen will miss the first round of the championship next week in Haspengauw, Belgium.
