Susie Wolff has celebrated 15 years of marriage to Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff with a heartfelt message on Instagram, offering a rare glimpse into the personal life of one of Formula 1's best-known couples.
"15 years. And it just keeps getting better. My forever love. I thank my lucky stars every day," she wrote, marking an anniversary that dates back to their wedding in Capri in October 2011.

How did Susie and Toto Wolff meet?

Their relationship began in the motorsport paddock, long before Toto became one of Formula 1's most successful team bosses and Susie took charge of F1 Academy.
The pair first crossed paths in 2006, when Susie, then racing under her maiden name Stoddart, competed in the DTM championship for Mercedes. Toto was already involved in the German manufacturer's motorsport activities through his investment in HWA, the company responsible for Mercedes' DTM programme.

Their friendship eventually developed into a relationship, although Susie later admitted that she initially kept her feelings to herself. She recalled being attracted to how naturally their conversations flowed and eventually deciding to make the first move. Toto proposed within months of their relationship beginning, and the couple married in 2011. Their son Jack was born in April 2017.

From racetrack to leading roles in Formula 1

Their professional lives also followed remarkable paths, with both establishing themselves in Formula 1 through very different roles. Susie began her racing career in karting before progressing through Formula Renault, Formula 3 and DTM. In 2012, she joined Williams as a development driver, eventually making history at the 2014 British Grand Prix when she became the first woman in 22 years to participate in a Formula 1 race weekend.
After retiring from competitive driving in 2015, she launched the Dare to Be Different initiative to encourage greater female participation in motorsport. She subsequently became team principal of Venturi Racing in Formula E in 2018, before stepping into the CEO role in 2021.

Since March 2023, she has served as managing director of F1 Academy, overseeing the all-female championship designed to help young drivers progress through the motorsport ladder.
Toto, meanwhile, followed his own racing career with a move into business and motorsport management. He became involved with Williams as an investor before joining Mercedes in 2013, where he now serves as team principal, CEO and co-owner of the Formula 1 team.
Under his leadership, Mercedes enjoyed an unprecedented period of dominance, winning eight consecutive Constructors' Championships between 2014 and 2021, and is now on the verge of reclaiming both world titles with Kimi Antonelli and George Russell.
