Max Verstappen had a challenging weekend during his anniversary race in Hungary. Despite this, he stated in the latest episode of Behind The Charge on the YouTube channel of Red Bull Racing that a bad result doesn't bother him much for one particular reason.
The entire weekend at the Hungaroring was extremely difficult for Verstappen. The Dutchman only managed to finish eighth in qualifying. After this session, he even stated that he no longer expects to win in 2025. The race didn't go well for the Red Bull Racing driver either, ending in ninth place.

Max Verstappen finds comfort with daughter Lily

Despite it being a poor weekend for Verstappen and his team, the four-time world champion shared in the Austrian team's latest video that such things matter little to him.
"Even of course when you have a disappointing result like this, you need to keep your head up and keep going."
"Even if you have a bad race or weekend, when you get back home, it doesn't really matter, does it?"
"You see the little girl smiling at you and you're like, it's okay. Life goes on. You see the little girl smiling at you and you're like, it's okay. Life goes on. At the end of the day, that's the most important."

Verstappen and Kelly Piquet welcomed daughter in spring 2025

Last year, during the weekend of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Verstappen and his girlfriend Kelly Piquet announced they were expecting their first child together.
Since this spring, the Dutchman became a father to his daughter, Lily. She was born in the run up to the Miami Grand Prix. Piquet already had a daughter, Penelope, so Lily inserted herself into the now family of four who resides in Monaco.
Currently, Verstappen stands third in the championship. The McLaren drivers have pulled away from him. Oscar Piastri currently has a 97 point lead over his rival from Red Bull Racing.
The Australian's teammate, Lando Norris, has 88 more points than the four-time world champion. At the same time, Verstappen also has to watch his back. George Russell finished third this weekend and is now just fifteen points behind the Dutchman.
