After the Miami Grand Prix, Christian Horner answered why the McLarens were able to make a significant gap ahead of Max Verstappen.
During the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Verstappen was able to be consistently, albeit marginally, quicker than Oscar Piastri for most of the race.

McLaren is better at this

Talking to GPBlog and others, Horner explained Red Bull Racing's issues during the Miami Grand Prix.
He said, "We had some issues with the brakes that Max hasn't been happy with that might be compounding or contributing to the issue."

"The drivers talk about a numbness in the car, and things start to overheat. Plenty to go away and reflect on after this race. McLaren just do a better job of keeping their temp certainly on this type of circuit at this venue under control."

But why didn't this happen in Jeddah?
Horner then weighed in on if said issues would be restricted to Miami and similar tracks, or if it was pertinent to other natures of circuits as well.
"It's circuit-specific. We know that these tyres are very sensitive to temperature. We're running hotter here than we did in Jeddah. It's small increments, so things can change very quickly. When you look at the race traces of all the other cars, it looks like they were all complaining or having similar issues."

"It's just McLaren have managed to manage that situation better."
