Team bosses Christian Horner and Franz Tost told the press conference in Miami that it is not realistic for every race in Formula 1 to be a spectacle. According to the two, there is no need to change the Formula 1 format at all.
The FIA is experimenting nicely in the King's class. In Baku, the organisation tried out a new sprint race format. For years, the current format of three free practice sessions, a qualifying session and a race has been on the chopping block. "I think that the model Formula 1 has is successful and I don't think we have to change anything there because otherwise, I think the fans get even more distracted by everything," AlphaTauri team boss Franz Tost stated.

'Formula 1 is like a thick book'

Christian Horner concurs. "A Formula 1 season is like a long book. Not every chapter can be a blockbuster," says the Briton. The large number of races contributes to this, thinks the boss of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. "You get races that are sometimes a bit static, you get sometimes races that are phenomenal events and there's no magic ingredient other than the variables that sometimes introduce that." The 49-year-old team boss points to other sports: "Sometimes there will be races that are sometimes slightly less entertaining than others, as you see with football matches and all kinds of other sports."
