Silverstone was a difficult weekend for many teams, as they only had sixty minutes of practice at the track before qualifying. Honda's chief engineer Masamitsu Motohashi said that Honda didn't have enough time to give the best performance.

One free practice was too little

"We couldn't make the most of our performance with only one session lasting sixty minutes. It was a tough weekend for us. But we will do it again in the future, so we have to start working on it," Motohashi said at the Japanese AS-Web.

Overtaking was a big challenge at Silverstone

Despite a difficult weekend where the teams only had an hour to get the car set up, Motohashi let it be known that the setup of AlphaTauri was optimized. What the Japanese noticed at Silverstone was the difficulty the drivers had with overtaking others. This led to so-called 'DRS trains' on the track.

"The speed in free air was very close together and you could move towards the cars in front of you, but you couldn't pass them", Motohashi explains. In the end, AlphaTauri had to make do with just one point scored by Yuki Tsunoda.
