Hill speaks out on the potential Colapinto-Doohan swap at Alpine

Former F1 world champion Damon Hill has had his say on the potential driver lineup change at Alpine, with Jack Doohan expected to be replaced by Franco Colapinto.
Just six races into the 2025 Formula 1 season, Alpine look poised to shake up their driver duo already, with Colapinto set to be called up to replace Doohan before the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
In January 2025, it was announced that the Argentine would be moving from his role as Williams' reserve driver to Alpine to become their new reserve driver after impressing at the British team.

'Some drivers need better contracts,' says Hill

Just a day after the Miami Grand Prix, rumours started to swirl regarding the change between the two drivers, with GPblog understanding that the French team are currently evaluating the position of Doohan at the team.
The Australian has already been inder pressure before the season began due to the signing of Colapinto, and after six races, no points have been brought in, while teammate Pierre Gasly has brought in six already.
1996 world champion Hill took to X to have his say on the matter, saying: "Looks like some drivers need better contracts!"
It is not the first change in driver lineups in 2025, with the swap at Red Bull between Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda happening after just two Grands Prix.
