Here’s how Max Verstappen reacted to securing third place in the first GT3 qualifying session of the Barbarossapreis at the Nordschleife!
“It was my first time gaining experience here, and everything actually went quite well”
- Max Verstappen
When asked about his first GT3 qualifying session at the Nordschleife, Verstappen replied: “It actually went quite well. On the intermediates, it was great, and the car worked really well too. Of course, there’s always a lot of traffic. Finding the best timing here isn’t easy. Then, towards the end… yeah, it was a shame on the slicks.”
Verstappen stated that he encountered too much traffic on his final lap, which prevented him from making a decisive push for pole position.
“On my last lap, I ran into too much traffic to put together a good lap. But the car is working really well, and the tires are good. I think in the race it should be fine.
He finally added: “The difference between the various cars is, of course, quite big, and right now there’s really only one dry line, with different corners. It’s a bit on the limit, but that’s fun.
I really enjoy that. It was my first time gaining experience here, and everything actually went quite well—just a shame in the final laps, but that’s part of it.”
