Nico Rosberg has revealed that he sent Lando Norris a message offering him help. The 2016 World Champion also shared why this ultimately did not go through. Norris crashed towards the end of the Canadian Grand Prix with Oscar Piastri. The Briton was attempting to overtake his teammate but hit the back of the other McLaren in the process. Subsequently, the number two in the championship lost his front wing and, after a collision with the wall, also broke his suspension.
Rosberg sent Norris a message in vain
Rosberg revealed to the German branch of Sky Sports after the Grand Prix that he had made an offer to mentor Norris. The German then stated he received no further response from the McLaren driver, rendering a mentor role not possible at this time.
Norris is having a tough year. Before the season, the Brit declared that this should be his year to become World Champion. For now, he stands second, behind teammate Oscar Piastri, who has already won five times in 2025.
