Red Bull Racing has parted ways with Christian Horner yesterday morning. The Brit has been with the team since the start of the Formula 1 adventure. During his entire career at Red Bull, the Brit worked closely with Helmut Marko, who has now shared his first reaction to Horner's departure.
“Christian and I have worked together very successfully for over 20 years – both in Formula 1 and in Formula 3000. I would like to sincerely thank Christian for that," the Austrian began in a post from Red Bull Racing on X.
The 82-year-old continued: "During this time, we were able to celebrate an incredible number of outstanding achievements. We helped developed two World Drivers’ Champions and several Grand Prix winners. That has always been – and still is – the Red Bull way."
Marko and Horner built the Red Bull Racing team since 2005. Both Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen won four world titles under the leadership of the Austrian and the Brit.
Finally, Marko looked ahead to the coming period. “As for the current sporting situation: there are still twelve races to go, and we will continue to fight for the Drivers’ Championship as long as it's mathematically possible.”
