Helmut Marko is pleased with how Red Bull performed during the first day of the Russian Grand Prix. Max Verstappen was second fastest in FP1 and topped the timesheet in FP2. They will hope that their pace continues into the business end of the weekend and that their five-place grid penalty doesn't affect them too much.
"The setback of Singapore is behind us, our package works here," the Austrian said to ORF. "I believe we can come up with this at the top of the field and also fight for pole position on Saturday."
Marko reveals that Red Bull really want to perform in front of Honda's home fans at the Japanese Grand Prix next time out.
“We are working towards the Grand Prix at Suzuka. That is our third home race and currently the most important race. In addition, it now only concerns five places of grid punishment."
Red Bull took the engine penalty this weekend meaning that they won't have any for the Japanese Grand Prix so that they can fight for the race victory at their engine manufacturers home circuit.
