Mercedes have been thwarting Red Bull Racing for the past two Grands Prix. Where Lewis Hamilton drove his rival Max Verstappen off the leg at Silverstone, Valtteri Bottas did the same in Hungary. It caused a lot of boos from the Orange fans.
The seven-time world champion saw the emotions coming in advance, he said in an interview with Motorsport.com. "It's not a surprise to me, given the things that were said by the bosses that prompted this. I think people really need to think because it was unacceptable."
The world championship frontrunner then had nice words for his team. "The world is changing and we have to stay positive. I'm very proud of my team for staying so focused because it was a whirlwind of emotions and things coming at us from all sides. We kept working, we got on the track and we delivered. I'm very proud of everyone."

Verstappen vs Hamilton

Hamilton is provisionally eight points ahead of Verstappen in the world championship due to Sebastian Vettel's disqualification. The German is still trying to get out of the penalty, however, which means that for the moment it remains to be seen how big his lead will be during the race in Belgium.
