Hamilton looks back on goodbye Vettel: 'A night to remember'

Lewis Hamilton seems touched by Sebastian Vettel's farewell. All the drivers had dinner together in Abu Dhabi and Hamilton looks back on the evening on his Instagram. It is a night he will never forget.

Hamilton reportedly organised the get-together of all the drivers. With this, the seven-time world champion not only planned to end the season together but more importantly to say goodbye to his former rival Sebastian Vettel. Although they fought hard against each other for years at Mercedes and Ferrari, a friendship has developed, it seems.

On his Instagram, Hamiton writes of his fellow drivers: "We have come far as drivers and we continue to grow as people. Despite whatever happened on the track, we are growing and getting better every day. Our coming together where we celebrated life and Seb's amazing career in F1 is a night I will never forget."

According to BBC F1 reporter Andrew Benson, Hamliton was the organiser of the evening and the Mercedes driver is said to have footed the bill. It also appears on the drivers' social media channels that it was a successful evening.
