Lewis Hamilton couldn't get close to his teammate Valtteri Bottas in qualifying as the Finn recorded a brilliant 1:15.4 in Q3. That's Bottas' third pole in a row as Mercedes continue their dominance.
With Ferrari still so far away, it's looking like Hamilton's main rival in 2019 will be Bottas. He's already turning up the temperature.
"I'll be giving it everything tomorrow, it's great for the team to get another one-two, but if I can reverse it tomorrow, then I'll be happy," Hamilton said in a conversation with his former teammate Jenson Button.
"Valtteri did a great job, he's been quick all weekend, I didn't put the lap together and I had to go out early ahead of everyone else, ultimatly it wasn't a good enough job on my side."
