The start of the Mexican Grand Prix could turn out to be a good one for Red Bull Racing. The Milton Keynes-based team were aiming for pole, but by starting from P3 and P4 they can make perfect use of the slipstream - an advantage the Mercedes-duo doesn't have.
Lewis Hamilton acknowledges that too, as he explained in the press conference after qualifying. "It feels exactly the same sort of length but obviously in Russia there’s a lot more drag and a lot more tow-effect. Here there’s less but still there is a tow effect and so you know, Valtteri and I will no doubt work as a team to try and hold one-two for the team."

Can Red Bull attack?

His Finnish teammate concurs: "It’s maybe a bit less drag here, so but I think to maintain the first two places, you still need a really good start. If the guys behind us have even a little bit better start then they will have an upper hand," Valtteri Bottas explained.
For Max Verstappen it doesn't matter much. The Dutchman revealed that he mainly wants to stay close to the two Mercedes to be able to attack. "I mean it’s a very long run, yeah, I mean it’s a long run but it depends on how your start is and everything so I guess we’ll just find out tomorrow," the Red Bull driver said.
