Hamilton expecting fireworks in the paddock

Liberty Media is to reveal 2021 engine plans to teams and manufacturers this morning.

This will be followed by an urgent meeting tomorrow to discuss overtaking plans. 

With Ferrari threatening to leave the sport if they’re not happy with the regulations, sparks could fly. 

Hamilton is prepared and insists he’s expecting the driver market to change. 

"It (Liberty's plans) will be great to know. Maybe it affects the driver market, maybe it doesn't. But it comes at a good time as I haven't put pen to paper," said the World Champion. 

The regulations are intended to help reduce cost whilst making racing more exciting. 

Liberty Media has said: “We’re excited for that opportunity and looking forward to engaging with the teams.”

During pre-season testing, Christian Horner insisted that the plans were revealed as soon as possible to enable planning time. 

New teams are rumoured to be interested in the sport so an announcement today should also enable advanced preparation for the newcomers in 2021.
