The FIA has called for an urgent meeting in Bahrain with technical chiefs to discuss the lack of overtaking.
Formula 1 has come under a lot of criticism as a result of the overtaking absence.
There will be a focus on how to get drivers close enough to the car in front in order to create an overtaking opportunity.
If they are to make any rule changes, they must be confirmed by the end of April. Ross Brawn suggests that changes to the front and rear wings are at the top of the list:
“The front wing is for sure one area that is sensitive in both respects,
“In terms the disturbance it creates, and then the sensitivity to the disturbance of the car in front.
“We know the percentage drop in performance that comes as a car approaches another car
"We’ve found ways of improving that in reducing the disturbed flow from the car in front.
“So we’re trying to do it in a properly structured way, and that will be the solution we’ll apply for 2021.”
For now, the only changes seen are coming in the form of DRS extensions.
2021 is a long time to wait for something so desperately needed.
