Lewis Hamilton has won the British Grand Prix nine times. He returns to Silverstone this year, hoping to win once again - only this time with his new team, Ferrari.
During Thursday’s media day, Hamilton was asked if he was hoping for a repeat of the 2024 British Grand Prix, where he won.
He said, "I'm hoping and praying, yes. There's always magic here in Silverstone, so I don't really have to hope for that. In the sense of the crowd, it’s incredible. It's a very, very, very special place, and it always provides a special race one way or the other."

Hamilton's fully focused on results with Ferrari

“I'm hoping that the weather, all sorts of things, can help us because we're obviously naturally not as quick as McLaren. If it just stays dry, then we'll just walk the race.”
Hamilton has never finished lower than third at the Silverstone circuit for the British Grand Prix. However, he has not been on a podium for 13 races now - one of his worst runs ever.
To this, he said, “I don't really look at those stats things, so it's not something that affects me or I think about.”

Hamilton continued, “Of course, we're at Silverstone, it would be a great place to be able to change that. That's what we're working towards.”
Ferrari brought upgrades to the Austrian Grand Prix, which seem to be working for the team. Charles Leclerc placed third, with Hamilton fourth, last race weekend. Now, Hamilton has topped the first practice session, with Leclerc being in the top five as well.
Regarding if he feels as if the upgrades are working, he said, "I do. I think we did take a step, and I'm really, really hopeful that that continues. I think we still need to try and extract more from this car. There are still a few tenths and problems that we're trying to work through, some short-term and some long-term, so we're trying to make the best of what we have."
