Isack Hadjar has turned his doubters and critics into fans. The Red Bull talent is taking the Formula One stage by storm, and his confidence is so high he has refrained from asking idol Lewis Hamilton for advice. Speaking to Mundo Deportivo the French Algerian opened up on what it feels like to race beside the now
Ferrari driver.
"It's always nice to race with him, to spend time with him. Sometimes talking to him is great, because he's someone I've supported since I was very young. And now being with him is... meeting his dad is also... it's great, we get along. Obviously there's a big age gap. There's a lot of respect."Lewis Hamilton's adaptation to Ferrari has been in the eye of the storm since the 2025 F1 season's start
'Hamilton's got habits and that's the worst'
Speaking on whether or not there's a mentor-pupil relationship between himself and Hamilton Hadjar said: "He doesn't give me much [advice] either because we're still rivals. If I need advice, I ask, but I don't need help. I don't like asking for help. I like to learn on my own."
When asked regarding his adaptation process in F1 and Hamilton's to Ferrari, he made some rather in depth comments about the seven-time world champion.
"Yes, but there are cases where they've been in the same car for many years and have habits, and the change is more brutal. I don't have any habits, you know?"
"I'm in an F1 car, the year before in an F2 car, before that in an F3 car. So I keep changing, I keep adapting. I don't have any habits, and having habits are the worst."
Hamilton is currently 119 points off Oscar Piastri, the championship's current leader and trailing teammate Leclerc by 25 points with 14 rounds still to go in the Formula One 2025 season.
