Grosjean was worried about his tyres at the end of the Chinese GP

Haas driver Romain Grosjean was "a bit worried" before the Chinese Grand Prix due to tyre management problems with the team's car.

At the Shanghai International Circuit, both Grosjean and his team-mate Kevin Magnussen were struggling for pace in the free practice sessions, similar to the grand prix before in Bahrain.

Back in Bahrain, poor tyre management cost the team a solid top 10 finish. Both Grosjean and Magnussen were able to qualify for Q3 and finish in the points-positions for the race. But in the race itself, both cars fell out of the top 10.

For Grosjean, it was the first completed race of the season, after retiring early in Australia and Bahrain, and the French driver is trying to understand why the car is struggling for speed on the longer runs.

"I was a bit worried, to be fair, before the start as our race pace hasn't been amazing all weekend," Grosjean said. "The car's amazing over one lap, but as soon as we go two laps on the tyres, we're not there anymore. We need to understand exactly what happened.
