Romain Grosjean is closely following developments surrounding the Andretti's interest in Formula 1. The Frenchman is racing for Andretti Autosport in the IndyCar Series this season and may be well-placed to return to Formula 1 with the US team. However, he himself is keeping his options open, according to an interview with GQ Magazine.
The driver has quite a few years in Formula 1 behind him. These included action for Lotus and Haas, where he learned a lot and managed to develop himself. Grosjean is therefore convinced that he can be of value to the new team that may come up with Andretti.
"For sure, Formula 1 stays the pinnacle of motorsport," Grosjean says. "Andretti would have a lot of work if they make it Formula 1, just the way Haas was. Right now I would say I prefer to stay in IndyCar, but again, you never know. When things are done and concrete and in front of you, sometimes your mind changes."

Grosjean keeps future open

According to Grosjean, he also previously did not think he would ever leave for the United States and race there, which means he has since ruled nothing out. The next few years should show whether a return will actually materialise.
