Romain Grosjean is still recovering from injuries sustained during his horror crash in Bahrain. On Tuesday afternoon, he had surgery on his left hand.

Joint ligament damage

During the operation Grosjean had his damaged ligament looked at. "At my left thumb, the ligament was damaged by the crash. We also have to clean the burns. The right hand is also being treated to some extent after I was injured earlier in 2020," the Frenchman said on his social media.
This morning, Grosjean said that the operation went well. "A good sleep and not too much pain," he said on Instagram.

Early end of Formula 1 career

During the Grand Prix of Bahrain, Grosjean crashed hard on the opening lap. Due to the blow against the crash barrier, Haas broke in half and caught fire. The Frenchman finally managed to free himself and had relatively little to spare from the accident. The last two races of the season he was replaced by Pietro Fittipaldi. Before 2021 Grosjean was without a contract anyway, so this accident seems to be the end of his Formula 1 career.
