Grosjean confirms test drive for Mercedes, has already been approached by Wolff

In a stream on his own Twitch channel last night, French driver Romain Grosjean confirmed he will test drive for Mercedes in the near future. He explains he has already been approached by Toto Wolff, and that the plans between him and the team are currently being finalised.

Asked by one of his fans if he has already been approached by Toto Wolff to test a Mercedes car, the Frenchman says, a smile on his face: “Yes! I have had a phone call with them and we are finalising the plans.”

There were earlier rumours that Toto Wolff would offer Grosjean a test drive in the Mercedes, to ease his abrupt end in Formula 1 after his Bahrain crash, thus letting him close this chapter in his career on a positive note.

Grosjean seems very happy with the chance to drive the Mercedes. "I think it will be mega," he said proudly, live streaming from Miami.
