Franco Colapinto can thank Lewis Hamilton for checking a private jet flight off his bucket list. The Argentine had the chance to fly to London with Hamilton and came away with some great stories to share.
Max Verstappen flies in his private jet all over the
world, but not all F1 drivers can afford that luxury yet. Franco
Colapinto, at the beginning of this season still a reserve at Alpine, flew
last week for the first time on a private jet. It was offered to him by
Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion has recently been busy promoting the 'F1' movie in New York and London.
Colapinto flies with 'idol' Hamilton
"Lewis is a great guy, and I just had the best flight of my life with him, and it's very special, very unique. And you will know that he was my idol since I was very young, with Senna as well."
"We had a bit of a chat, and I asked if someone was going to London. And he said, 'I'm going to London, but in EasyJet, so I can't really help you.' And then he came back saying that he had a lot of space in the plane and he invited me to go," Colapinto revealed in an interview with GPblog in
Austria.
