GP Great Britain at risk: another major sporting event cancelled

The motorsport festival Goodwood (scheduled to last until July 12th) and the Wimbledon tennis tournament (scheduled to last until July 13th) had both already been cancelled and the world's oldest golf tournament was added on Monday. The Britsh Open was supposed to last from 12 to 19 July, but will not take place now.

A Grand Prix at Silverstone with an audience is out of the question anyway, but also a race weekend behind closed doors doesn't really seem obvious. The organisation of the British GP already indicated at an earlier stage that it should be clear by the end of April at the latest whether or not it will take place.

For Canada, many major events have already been cancelled. An official announcement from Montreal is also pending. It is therefore not inconceivable that the FOM, the FIA and F1 will soon issue a major statement saying that the Grand Prix of Canada, France, Austria and Great Britain will all be postponed. After this list, the Hungarian Grand Prix of August 2 is on the calendar.
