It is safe to say the summer break wasn't Pierre Gasly's finest few weeks in motorsport but the once again Toro Rosso driver is optimistic about his return to Red Bull's sister team.
Gasly was demoted to Toro Rosso two weeks ago when it was announced, Alex Albon would race for Red Bull from the Belgian Grand Prix until the end of the season. The move is expected to determine who will partner undoubted number one, Max Verstappen next season.
Gasly was expected to keep his seat until the end of the season, with Christian Horner confirming they'd make a decision then. However, Gasly has returned to his former team, an opportunity he is relishing after recharging his batteries.
“The summer break is over and I am back with my Italian family for the rest of the season and I’m happy to be working with Toro Rosso again," Gasly said in Toro Rosso's Belgian Grand Prix preview.
"I’ve had a couple of weeks to rest and train to get ready for the nine upcoming races so I can give my best performance for the team.

"It was nice to have that time off to reflect on the first half of the season, but now I’m fully focussed on the rest of the season and ready to get going again," the Frenchman added.
